Northern Ireland’s relatively small geographical size offers a unique advantage: our livestock only have a short distance to travel from the farm to the point of slaughter. Upon arrival, the animals are rested in our lairage facilities and cared for by a dedicated team trained specifically in this area, ensuring their welfare throughout the process.
Northern Ireland also benefits from its own unique Quality Assurance Scheme, managed by the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC). This scheme provides assurance across the supply chain by ensuring that: •Primary producers are farming in harmony with the environment. •Animals are reared in a welfare-friendly manner. •All operational and production methods are focused on producing a wholesome and safe end product
This commitment to quality and welfare reflects the high standards of the Northern Irish livestock industry and ensures trust and confidence in our products
